Does anyone know what has broken off the top of the stone obelisk above the lavish pink marble? Are there any plans to restore this memorial to the Peacock - Cookson family?
Thankyou very much. This is the second time that someone has given that information, so it must be right. I thought that the patina on the broken part on top of the column was not compatible with being constructed contemporaneously. Thanks again
Hi.
ReplyDeleteI believe an obelisk looking like a broken column is to denote someone who died young - ie. a life cut short.
cheers phil
